RIDGELAND, SC (WTOC)- Police stopped a murder suspect from Florida for following too closely in Ridgeland Wednesday.

Nelson Vargas, 26, of Maitland, Fla. was driving a Chevrolet Traverse on I-95 when officers saw him following too close around 9 a.m. Vargas exited the interstate at exit 21 and police stopped the vehicle at a McDonald's parking lot.

A check of the information provided by Vargas revealed that his license was suspended and he was a wanted fugitive out of Florida. Vargas was then taken into custody without incident.
